I'm sure you need a little more whimsy in your life. I don't even need to ask. 

One place to find it is The Magical Midwinter Market. It's more than a holiday market, it’s a living storybook brought to life. You’ll step into a world of enchanted vendors, mysterious quests, whimsical characters, and hidden secrets waiting to be discovered. It's an immersive holiday shopping experience located at Logan Street Market from Dec 12-21st.  

I didn't know what to expect, but was very intrigued from the social posts. It was very mystical giving a mix of Dungeons and Dragons, Harry Potter and Once Upon A Time vibes. Sabrina the Teenage Witch, Charmed and Harry Potter raised me. My curiosity was peaked.


It absolutely delivered on mystical whimsy. Me and three friends stepped into a completely transformed world at Lorehollow Academy. We were met by the Market Master who gave the rules for interacting in the world- the number one rule being have FUN.

Once we entered the portal we were sent on a quest by Lexi Quill, the quest master. Our goal was to become a part of the markie society by completing the quest. Each quest completed was rewarded with a pin. You can collect 6 in total. 

Some of the quests include: finding ingredients throughout the market for a magical potion, helping Plantologist Pike choose a gift for his unrequited love, learning a protective spell to ward off Victor Creo from turning people evil and solving puzzles.

During all of this you can shop some amazing vendors who travel from all over to bring such unique hand crafted items.

My favorite part of this whole experience is seeing how immersed my friends became in the whole experience. The competitiveness to win the quest brought out the absolute worst- in the best way. Whether you are 5 or 50 this experience is enjoyable and something so different from the usual eating and drinking scene. And, YES, although this was a gifted experience- the entry fee is so worth it.
